The 2019 challenge saw businesses take part in simple and fun activities focused on
reducing food waste. We’re talking activities that increase knowledge and encourage sustainable behaviours.
Businesses were awarded points for their participation and successes.
At the end of the month, all scores were tallied and a Plate to Paddock challenge
winner, along with other types of winners, were announced at a Gala Awards
Ceremony hosted by Central Coast Council. Some amazing sustainable prizes were on offer.
“After doing the food waste audit for the 4 weeks we noticed that our biggest food wastage days are Saturday and Monday… as a result we have made less food, more to order and that has helped significantly. It’s been a hoot! I’ve really enjoyed learning all these things. I was so naïve and so are so many people I talk to. So well done!”
